Distance Education policy

Distance Education Policy

Any distance education courses or programs offered by the Department of Crop & Soil Sciences should adhere to University of Georgia policies and procedures concerning distance education (Academic Policy Statement #19). Crop & Soil Sciences has the following requirements in addition to those set forth by the university.

  • Courses offered both traditionally and through distance education by tenure-track faculty are handled at his/her discretion
  • New distance education courses are approved through the normal academic process
  • Distance education courses offered by non UGA or retired UGA faculty must be approved by the faculty (curriculum committee and department head) and the course reviewed through the peer review process
  • A non-departmental instructor must have adjunct status in the department. For graduate-level courses, the faculty member must have graduate faculty status
