Research, Teaching, and Extension Work

My responsibilities include:

  1. Developing superior cultivars of forage and bioenergy crops suitable for hay or pasture
  2. Integrating improved breeding methods, including molecular technologies, into the cultivar development process
  3. Conducting research on the genetic basis of yield and related traits in alfalfa and other crops
  4. Training graduate students and post doctoral fellows in forage breed and genetics
  5. Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses
  6. Developing sustainable agricultural systems through the incorporation of perennial forage and bioenergy crops
