Dr. Eric Prostko was recognized by the Weed Sciences Society of America (WSSA) with their Outstanding Extension Award.

Spring Cookout scheduled for April 15 (posted 03.15.11)
The annual spring cookout has been set for April 15, 2011. This cookout will be held on the Miller Plant Sciences front lawn, and will begin at 5:00pm.

Steve Sutton recognized as Outstanding Employee of the Year (posted 03.04.11)
Steve Sutton, of the Griffin campus, was the recipient of the 2011 Outstanding Employee of the Year. He was recognized by the Classified Staff Awards Committee, Assistant Dean Dr. Gerald Arkin, and fellow faculty and staff, at the annual awards ceremony and luncheon at the Griffin Country Club.

Annual Spring Appreciation Banquet to be held April 19 (posted 02.15.11)
The annual Spring Appreciation Banquet, hosted by the UGA Turf and Agronomy Clubs, will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Rooms and food are being provided by the Holiday Inn of Athens. Our special guest speaker will be Coach Vince Dooley, former UGA Head Football Coach and Atheletic Director. Invitations to this event have been sent out, and RSVPs must be received by March 31. We hope to see you there!

Dr. Scott Jackson
has been hired as the GRA Eminent Scholar in Crop Genomics. Dr. Jackson will join the UGA family on August 15, 2011.
