GRE scores are based on the sum of the scores of the aptitude portion of the exam (Verbal + Quantitative).
Master of Science Degree (M.S.)
Overall GPA >= 3.0 and competitive GRE (verbal + quantitative).
Master of Plant Protection and Pest Management (M.P.P.P.M.)
Overall GPA >= 3.0 and competitive GRE (verbal + quantitative).
Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.)
Completion of an M.S. program or equivalent
and
GPA on M.S. program >= 3.5 and competitive GRE (verbal + quantitative).
Students will be expected to have an M.S. degree or equivalent from a U.S. college for admission to the Ph.D. program. The M.S. degree or equivalent obtained from non-U.S. universities must be evaluated by the Graduate Coordinating Committee for acceptance.
Nondegree Students
Completion of a baccalaureate or higher degree.
Required Exams and Reference Letters
The GRE is required for all but nondegree students without exceptions. For foreign students, the quantitative portion of the GRE must show a minimum score of 500. The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is required for all students who have not previously earned a degree taught in English. The TOEFL score must be a minimum of 550 on the paper-based test (PBT), 213 on the computer-based test (CBT), or 80 on the internet-based test (IBT, with minimum of 20 on both speaking and writing scores). The IELTS overall score must be a minimum of 6.5, with no individual band score below 6.0. GRE and TOEFL/IELTS scores should be sent directly to the Graduate School. Three strong letters of reference will be required. List the names of recommenders in the fields on page three of the graduate school application, along with their e-mail addresses. They will receive a link to access a secure page where they can submit your recommendation quickly and easily via the Web.
