I conduct statewide educational programs in winter and summer grain production. I also assist educational programs in forages. I work specifically on corn, wheat, grain sorghum, millet, oats, barley, rye and triticale. My primary interests are developing applied demonstrations and educational materials for corn and wheat producers. Program efforts in corn are introducing new hybrid technology, adoption of conservation tillage practices, poultry litter utilization and improving corn production efficiency. Program efforts in wheat include the adoption of intensive management techniques for higher yields, increasing conservation tillage, demonstrating the High Yield Wheat Production Efficiency Program and improving summer storage of bulk grain. Other program efforts include improving the use of rye, oats and ryegrass for grain, grazing, and conservation tillage.
